About Mo-Kan Roofing & Contracting
Mo-Kan Roofing & Contracting began with a summer job, a nail gun, and a teenager discovering his passion for roofing. That young man was Joe Shepherd, who stepped onto his first roof in 1990 and never looked back.
At the age of 18, he became a foreman. By 1996, he was running the service department for one of Kansas City’s largest roofing companies.
But after a decade of projects, promotions, and complex challenges, Joe missed the satisfaction of working directly with homeowners and building solid relationships—not just roofs.
So, in 2006, Joe stepped out on his own and launched Mo-Kan Roofing. The name reflects his roots and commitment to serving both Missouri and Kansas with top-notch roofing.
What started small has grown to serve across the KC metro and Lake of the Ozarks, but the heart of the company hasn’t changed: hands-on work, real relationships, and roofs built to last.
